The Belles U16 team took part in a sponsored Pyjamas & wellies match to help raise much needed funds for our club. During the hour long match there was some very strange shooting, tackling and dribbling going on. Indeed the best dribble of the night took place when one of the Belles got smacked in the nose by one of her own team mates and then continued to bleed all over the pitch for the next twenty minutes!
The U16s team manager thought the players actually played better with wellies on and suggested they turn up for their match on Saturday wearing them!
A very entertaining night for eveyone - well done girls!

The Brayton Belles Open age team have been so successful since starting out just over two years ago, that they are now looking at creating an additional team. The new team will work closely with the existing team and will play at a level to suit all abilities. The new team will play competitive football in the 2010 / 11 season. However to get the team off to a great start friendly matches will be played during the back end of this season and training sessions will start soon. The new team already has a good base of players but requires more to form a strong squad. If you are interested in taking part in this exciting new venture then contact the Belles through this Web site.

U11 Girls Football, 4 of the 10 squad were made up from the U12 Belles, Giorgia Bromley, Jenny Clay, Rhiannon Brown and Aine Abbott who showed there football experience to help the team win the tournament! Both the semi final and final going to extra time and penalties but Selby were always driving the game forward.

Last seasons U14 squad have won the WRFA Fair play award. The squad of 23 players played both 11 a side and 7 a side football. They rotated around the teams so that everyone gained experience at both formats. The squad picked up just one yellow card throughout the season.
The same level of comitment has been shown this year allowing us to field two U14 11 a side teams and an U16 team.
Well done to everyone involved.
The presentation of the award, medals and a £200 voucher will take place at the WRFA Woodlesford Leeds on 7th January.

BELLES U11A WIN LEAGUE CHAMPIONSHIP
Brayton Belles U11A team became champions of the Connexions York Girls League with a fine 5 - 0 win over the Belles B team.
This match was by no means a walk over for the A team who needed a draw to secure to league title. Belles B team fought hard throughout the match and enjoyed some stylish football themselves coming close to scoring on several occasions. However it was to be the Belles A teams day with Evie Smyth and Izy Forth bagging two well taken goals and Georgia Southern netting the fifth to send their supporters wild with excitement.
This was Braytons first under 11s league trophy and promises not to be their last. The U11A Coach Dennis Stephenson said "Players from both teams have excelled all season and the rapid development, especially from the younger players has been fantastic" One of the U11B coaches Richard Bromley has been impressed with the enthusiasm of all the U11s this season and stated "the girls have shown remarkable skill and teamwork over the season and more importantly have really enjoyed every minute of it"
Brayton U11A now look forward to the League cup final on 28th April. Hoping to achieve a league and cup double.
